Erik, 61 years old, is a property manager, married, and the father of grown-up children. In September 2024, he was referred to an ear, nose and throat specialist after experiencing hoarseness for two months. Examination revealed paralysis of his right vocal cord, and further tests led to an unexpected diagnosis of advanced nonsquamous NSCLC.
- Medical history: smoked tobacco since he was 18 years old (40 pack years)
- ECOG PS: 1
- Symptoms: Hypertension, weight loss, hoarseness (dysphonia); otherwise healthy
- PET/CT scan: primary tumour of 5.5 x 2.5 mm in right lung; lymph node metastases in mediastinum and supraclavicular
- TNM classification: T3N3M0
- PD-L1 expression: <50%
- KRAS G12c mutation
